SAN DIEGO—July 21, 2009— From the heart of the pop culture universe, Xbox 360 is challenging you to choose your own adventure, whether it’s saving planet Earth from the safety of your sofa (costume optional), tweeting to your friends via Xbox LIVE or laughing at the antics of Felicia Day and her online gaming cohorts in “The Guild.” At Comic-Con International 2009, Xbox 360 will unveil its line-up of exclusive entertainment programming, including season three of the hit Web series “The Guild” and the new show “Girls Go Geek,” as well as spotlight its growing universe of pop culture icons, from hilarious characters like Stan and Cartman of “South Park,” to the fearless troopers of the “Halo” universe and the gritty renegade spy Sam Fisher from “Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction.”

“Comic-Con is the biggest pop culture event of the year. It’s the place where geeks can celebrate who they are and get sneak peeks at all the cool stuff coming out,” said Felicia Day, star and creator of “The Guild.” “I can’t wait to unveil season three of ‘The Guild’ and contribute to the excitement of what Xbox is bringing to the show. Xbox 360 is like the superhero of the living room, saving souls from mediocrity and boredom.”

A World of Instant Fun, Friends and Entertainment

Just as Comic-Con has grown from a comic book convention to the destination for all things pop culture, Xbox 360 has become the core of your living room entertainment experience. New content hitting Xbox LIVE next month includes exclusive shows you won’t want to miss:

· “The Guild,” one of the most popular online shows with a huge cult following, is back for a third season on August 25. The show is sponsored by Sprint and is free to watch. “Girls Go Geek,” a new series exclusive to Xbox LIVE, where host and self-proclaimed geek, Amber MacArthur (aka Amber Mac), will sit down with other girl gamers and geeks to dish on games, gadgets and tech. In the first episode, Amber chats with Felicia Day to get the inside scoop on life as a Web star, TV actor and gamer. Amber will also dive into the new social networking features on Xbox LIVE. The show, which debuts this August, is presented by the U.S. Air Force and is free to watch.

Microsoft is also announcing that Aug. 11 ushers in an opportunity for Xbox LIVE members to experience a new wave of entertainment with the following updates and new features:

· Movie night goes nationwide with enhanced instant streaming from Netflix: With the new Netflix party experience on Xbox LIVE, you and your friends can watch movies and TV episodes together whether you’re sitting on the same couch or live on opposite coasts. It’s now easier than ever to add movies to your instant Queue, which can be done right from your sofa, as well as experience improved video quality for a picture perfect home theatre experience.

· The games you want, whenever you want them: Xbox LIVE Games on Demand provides convenient, 24×7 access to an online library of popular games. Games on Demand will launch with a library of more than 30 great games, with new titles added every week. From classic hits like “Mass Effect,” “BioShock” and “Assassin’s Creed,” to family favorites like “LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga” and “Sonic the Hedgehog,” there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

· Show your sense of style: With the new Xbox LIVE Avatar Marketplace you can deck out your Avatar with interactive props, like an RC Warthog from “Halo,” as well as purchase branded apparel from your favorite fashion labels and Xbox 360 games. Whether you are feeling funky or chic, playful or fierce, find the perfect outfit and accessories for your alter ego.

· With more updates coming later this fall like Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm and instant on 1080p HD streaming video through Zune, Xbox LIVE is revolutionizing the face of entertainment by offering more ways to connect and play together.

Crysis 2 to "MAX OUT" the PS3.

In Crysis, Crytek, E3, PSN, XB360, XBOX, hardware, pc, ps3, xbl on June 3, 2009 by Social Gamer

Gamasutra expresses that Crytek is known for its technical excellence, and we also quizzed Yerli on his impressions of the differences between the two HD platforms. “I mean essentially the game we run is about the sam,” he said. “Probably one’s stronger on the GPU side, one’s stronger on the CPU side, so depending on what you’re doing where, the PS3 does perform here sometimes better, the 360 performs other things better, but overall by the time the game ships it’ll be absolutely the same.”

I had to put this up since it’s something that I have stating for years now.

TSGB Special Report: Alan Wake Video and Screens

In Alan Wake, E3, XBOX, exclusive, xbl on June 3, 2009 by Social Gamer

(Written by Jorge Murphy)
This will be the year of Alan Wake. I know that we have all been hearing about this game for in a word “years”..!
This is the type of game that IMO, you either like or hate. The technicle aspect of this game from the information I’ve read and seen is just mind blowing.
The suspense almost feels like RAIN (PS3 Exclusive). Some blogs and websites have expressed the fact that RAIN is a game that really pushes the PS3????? I dought that, In RAIN your not able to explore a “FULL” 3D world sandbox. In Alan Wake you are able to go anywere and anything, not to mention the visuals are up there with RAIN. Well the bottom line is so far from E3 the only game that IMO Uncharted 2 will be a close match. But the game really doesn’t offer you a free roaming 3D sandbox.
So Alan Wake will me a multi-million seller…I know it for a fact. With over 20 million Live! users and over 30 million systems in homes across the world..it is only natural for this game to be a great asset to grow upon and continue it’s life into the next generation of XBOX consoles.

Features:

  • Episodic content: The mission-based structure of Alan Wake creates an episodic narrative similar to the very best of dramatic television. As the episodes progress, gameplay evolves to introduce new elements and characters, drawing the player deeper into the experience.
  • Realistic environment: Experience an immersive reality like never before, as weather and light changes affect gameplay. Explore every aspect of a hyper-detailed Pacific Northwest town as you look for the truth behind the horror around you.
  • Massive world: Explore and roam free in an open environment as you investigate the mysteries of Bright Falls. Pay close attention to detail as you look for clues scattered through the town.
  • Brutal combat: As night falls, creatures begin to attack, and the longer Alan spends in Bright Falls, the longer the nights get. His enemies seem to draw their power from the darkness, and light soon becomes his greatest ally. Combine use of light with more conventional weapons to drive back the forces that hide in the dark.

About:

In this long-awaited exclusive Xbox 360™ title, fill the shoes of one Alan Wake, a man who makes his living from the terror of others as a best-selling suspense novelist. Trapped in the deceptively peaceful Washington town of Bright Falls, where he came to escape the trauma of losing his fiancée, Alan must piece together a mystery to prevent himself from being trapped inside a nightmarish world forever.

An intense psychological thriller from Remedy, the creators of Max Payne, Alan Wake looks to raise the bar for future games, creating a true cinematic experience. Explore an expansive world filled with missions, unique puzzles, intense combat, and horrifying enemies. Dig into a twisting and multi-layered story filled with suspense, engaging characters, and shocking revelations.

Here’s the E3 2009 Video:

Well enough of my rambling here are the pictures.
