I’ve been playing a whole lot of Demon’s Souls since it launched last week and I agree with all of the reviewers out there. This game is unforgivingly hard as hell. That being said, the  game is so unique in gameplay and it’s online connectivity, you would be short changing your self if you own a PS3 and/or your a western role playing gamer.

PC Gaming News: For PC Gamers and Audiophiles (photos)

In PC Gaming, Technology, retail on September 25, 2009 by Social Gamer

When it comes to PC Gaming your always in the need of a good headset to game and communicate with friends online. For the most part you could use your notebooks’ Mic array, but then you run into the fact that Arrays pick up way to much background noise so for pc gaming this is not even an option. For Internet calls like on Skype your forced to get everything around you either off or muted (TV, Stereo, or people  need to stay out of your room).

This brings me back to what I just mentioned, “When it comes to PC Gaming your always in the need of a good headset”. Today SteelSeries had a press release on the official Press Site but mind you, I don’t have any pricing on the new Siberia v2 Headset. But from what I’ve read, I don’t believe it will sell at a bargain price point.

Here’s the Press Release:

SteelSeries Introduces New Siberia v2 Headset

New Version of SteelSeries’ Best-Selling Siberia Headset Delivers Superior Sound Isolation, Comfort, and Design for Gamers and Audiophiles

CHICAGO, Sept. 18, 2009 – SteelSeries, the leading manufacturer of gaming peripherals and accessories, today introduced the new SteelSeries Siberia v2 Full-size Headset. As the successor to SteelSeries’ signature Siberia Headset which launched in 2004, the new Siberia v2 offers gamers and music enthusiast’s superior speaker and microphone technology that delivers impeccable sound quality, integrated control capabilities, and enhanced design for greater comfort and improved passive noise reduction.

The original SteelSeries Siberia Full-size Headset became a huge success in the professional gaming community and also extended its reach into the music world being used by professional musicians in several high-profile international music videos.

As an upgrade to the original Siberia, the v2 sports an “invisible" retractable microphone system that pulls out from the left ear-cup, allowing for a more convenient and travel-friendly headset especially for tournament players.

The Siberia v2’s increased 50mm speakers will amplify the bass and overall volume as well as improve the frequency response to 10-28,000 Hz. Optimized for professional gaming, where crisp detailed sound can mean the difference between winning or losing, the soundscape features crystal clear high, low, and mid-tones. Tournament players and gamers that battle with loud households will appreciate its new closed ear-cup design which features thick leather padded cushions built from sound dampening foam to increase outside noise isolation, especially important for first-person shooter (FPS) games when footsteps and grenade pin-drops are so important to hear.

“Every element of the Siberia v2 has been optimized for pro-gaming, making this headset a preferred piece of equipment for the world’s best competitive PC gamers," said Bruce Hawver, CEO of SteelSeries. “What’s even more impressive is that the headset is multifunctional with its ability to deliver an unparalleled audio experience for music lovers and VOIP users."

Key product specifications of the SteelSeries Siberia v2 Full-size Headset include:

- 50mm speakers

- Impedance: 32 Ohm

- Frequency: 10-28,000 Hz

- SPL@1kHz: 112dB

- Cable: 1m + 2m extension

- Jacks: 2* 3.5mm

- Retractable microphone: 50-16,000 Hz, unidirectional

Along with the new thicker leather ear-cups for sound isolation, the Siberia v2 remains lightweight while its trademark headband suspension construction makes it extremely comfortable for use over long periods of time. The volume regulator, the cord and its base have also been upgraded. The primary cord is shorter in length for optimized use with portable gear and comes with an additional extra cord for use with stationary computers.

The Siberia v2 will be offered in two versions, with and without a USB soundcard. The virtual surround 7.1 soundcard offers a consistent sound experience, ensuring gamers the exact same sound and settings no matter where they are in the world or at what computer they are playing. With the easy to use software provided with the headset, the user can easily customize equalizer settings, profiles and other output settings.

SteelSeries Siberia v2 Full-size Headset will be available all over the world in November 2009. Pricing will be announced at that time as well.

In compu expert, release, retail, rise of flight on June 30, 2009 by Social Gamer

Rise of Flight Soars Into Retail
Lake Forest, CA – Jun 25, 2009 CompuExpert announced today that PC flight- simulation Rise of Flight: The First Great Air War, developed by Russian developer neoqb and published by 777 Studios, is now available throughout North America at traditional retail outlets, as well as via major online game retailers including GoGamer.com and Amazon.

Rise of Flight is the eagerly anticipated World War I PC flight-simulation title from Moscow-based developer neoqb. The flight simulator, set in the Western Front in 1917, was built on the newly developed Digital Nature engine. More than 125,000 square kilometers of the territory have been redrawn from 20th Century maps. Rise of Flight allows virtual pilots to fly the famous Spad XIII and deadly Fokker D.VII biplanes in exciting dogfight battles. Featuring advanced physics, flight and damage models, Rise of Flight promises a realistic, challenging and fun experience for simulation fans of all stripes and skill levels. Rise of Flight also implements full 6 DOF TrackIR support and is compatible with the TripleHead2Go multi-monitor system from Matrox.

Rise of Flight has already drawn praise from critics. IGN.com lauded the game’s art and customizability, saying “amazing graphics, with loads of options to customize the experience for the best performance.” World War I Air Combat said Rise of Flight, “the most realistic WWI flight sim, in many ways the most realistic flight sim yet released, is soon bound for the hands of eager virtual pilots everywhere.”
Rise of Flight includes a Training Campaign and Single Player missions so players can hone their aerial combat skills. Once they are ready, flyers can embark on a Pilot Career that includes six stages from lieutenant to colonel, and begin one of several campaigns with squadrons for the French, British, German or American air forces. Throughout their careers, players can win awards, commendations and promotions for successfully completing their missions.

Mission types in Rise of Flight include fighter sweeps, bomber escort, bomber interception, balloon attack and ground attack. If they wish, players can use the powerful Mission Builder to create custom scenarios of their own and share them with their friends.

Flight-sim enthusiasts can also play with their friends over the Internet and wage their own virtual air wars against rival online squadrons. Even the greatest of Aces in World War I had a wingman, and Rise of Flight multiplayer action focuses on cooperative teamwork and completion of mission goals. Whichever way you choose to play Rise of Flight, it will surely thrill and excite any simulation fan.

Planned additions to the Rise of Flight experience in the coming months include more flyable aircraft, scenery, objects and features. Hurry! Grab your goggles, leather helmet and silk scarf. Enemy planes are approaching!

Consumers can order Rise of Flight via GoGamer.com.

In 360, deals, gamestop, playstation, retail, shop, social, videogames on February 3, 2009 by Social Gamer Tagged: , , ,

Today was a horrible and and the same time it was grand..!

Today we are having one of the worst snow storms this season, IMO.  I guess that is the worst part of it..LoL

Now for the GRAND part of this post. Today was the Grand opening of the Cranston, RI Gamestop Flagship retail store. The store is normally packed to gills with customers but the storm was freaking bad, I was even scared to leave the store since I had to drive about a half hour and with the snow storm it was more like 45 minutes or so. But for the sake of getting these photos out to all of my Twitter followers. I had planned to live Tweet the photos from my iPhone but I thought it would be easier for me to take the photos first then get home and update the blog.

I won’t write much more on this post as I have added captions to all of the photos them selves. I hope you enjoy these pictures, I took them with my iPhone and the Darkroom App.  So without further a do here they are.

Well there ya have it. I probably could have taken more but the customers and staff were looking at me funny. LoL

I don’t know if you’ve ever shopped at a Flagship Gamestop before but from my point of view and from buying games from the company for more years than I can remember, it’s the best experience I have ever had in a Gamestop store. The whole mood and environment was really fun.

I actually wanted to stay longer but the winter storm was telling me to get home before it was to late. LoL

Talk to you all soon,

You might of already seen the E-Mail or store flyer but here’s the good Xbox deal from Gamestop. I think this is a good deal on the Xbox 360.

Used or reburbished Xbox 360 + 2 used games priced @ $29.99 or less = $199.99

Used or refurbished Playstation 2 + a wired
controller and 2 used games @ $9.99 or less = $99.99

Also the usual 30% extra “store credit” (doesn’t apply to cash trades)
if the trade credit is put on a Saint’s Row 2 pre-order.
