How Sony Should Counter the Nintendo DSi
Set for April 5th, the Nintendo DSi is already setting preorder records. Nintendo even warned about a possible shortage due to incredible demand. Without a doubt, the Nintendo DSi will further widen the gap between the Nintendo DS and the PSP.

Windows Live! getting Cross Platform Party Chat?

In social on March 30, 2009 by Social Gamer

I have been playing many FPS style games for so many years now and it’s great to have games like Crysis still being developed for the “HARCORE” PC gamers like myself.
I have a certain amount of love for the PC over consoles, even though I love XBL and PSN. I still can’t pull myself away from my PC all nighters…!

I would love it if Microsoft would create a stand alone software application for Windows and Xbox Live!. I want to be able to join into an Xbox Live! Party from with in Fallout 3 for Windows. I see the potential for this to be in some future XBL Update. I am pretty sure of it. This is my opinion of course and I have not received any inside information from any one. But if the goal for the xbox live team is to unite gamers across both Windows and Xbox 360 I am confident that Windows Gamers with Gold Live accounts will get some form of Cross Platform Live Party System. :-)
At least I am hoping..?

Even the BBC has Gaming News..?

In social on March 29, 2009 by Social Gamer

I go to the BBC once in a while for a different look on the news.
I found this article here and was blown away how even the BBC is
asking questions like the one on the article. I for one do not see
an end to this generation of gaming consoles. But with technology
changing so fast we only need a one year head start and the other
consoles will need to step up their online services. Well read on…BBC

The Pitt is really, really umm really available

In social on March 28, 2009 by Social Gamer

According to Major Nelson’s blog the XBL DLC for Fallout 3 “The Pitt” is available again but now fixed DLC.

Major says:
The Pitt has returned to the service! If you purchased and downloaded The Pitt yesterday, you’ll need to delete that version from your storage device before you download the new version. Here is an official support document that outlines what you’ll need to do to to delete the old version, but the basic steps are as follows:

  • Sign in to Xbox LIVE then press the guide button
  • Go to Settings->System Settings->Memory.
  • From here, scroll down to Fall Out 3 and press A.
  • Select Fallout 3: The Pitt (Marketplace Content) press A then choose Delete, then Yes to Delete.

Now, you can go and re-download the new version for no charge and begin your adventure. Remember, any content you purchased (like The Pitt) can be re-downloaded at no charge.

Also, don’t delete anything that says ‘Autosave.’ That would be bad ;)

With the Nintendo Wii now proving that motion sensing controllers for a console is more than just a cheap gimmick the rumors have been flying all around the net that both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 will be getting a similar Wii-like controller.

Here are a few pictures I found on the internet with these being just that photo shopped images and rumors. (Not official…)

Squeeball will come with 11 different mini-games and 150 challenges. Some of the challenges that will be included are bat, blow up, bounce, bowl, cook, shoot, and slice. Squeeball will be released for sale when the new motion controller is released. The us no oddival release date or pricing is more to come. The motion controller is set to some out some time this fall.

The Nintendo DS motion controller is a new smart stylis device. It will include features like vibration feedback and “can include a variety of added features, including LEDs sound and motion feedback.

Yes it has been confirmed. Today Microsoft has announced the release date for the Left 4 Dead DLC “The Survival Pack” is set to come out on April 21, 2009. The pack will include a whole new survival mode, which players will need to fend off unending waves of undead, along with the addition of the Death Toll and Dead Air campaigns in versus mode.

There has been no set points will cost for the new content. My guess will be about 800 Microsoft points for the addition. Also there is no release date set for the pc version.

Lost World Discovered in CABAL Online

In social on March 26, 2009 by Social Gamer

About:
In CABAL Online, players are called upon to protect the people of Nevareth from an evil entity known as Cabal. Set in a diverse environment that includes ice temples, forgotten ruins, desert hideaways, mutant forests and volcanic citadels, CABAL engages players with dynamic quests that tie-in beautifully to the game’s storyline and more than 300 dungeons to explore.
El Segundo, Calif. – March 26, 2009 – A lost world has been discovered in CABAL Online, the massively multiplayer role-playing game from OGPlanet, and it’s up to the citizens of Nevareth to uncover all its mysteries.

In the just-launched Lost World expansion, CABAL players face the task of exploring the newly discovered island in the Sea of Fracia, facing opponents including pirates and mutants along the way. As the secrets of the island are unlocked, the dangers grow, and only the most skilled adventurers will triumph. Adventurers in the Lost World dungeon will have access to beautiful weapons created with the newly discovered SIG Metal.

Besides the introduction of the mysterious island, CABAL players will find other additions to the action-filled MMORPG in this update. The vast expansion of the title system rewards triumphant monster hunters, PVP fighters, and crafters with titles that offer bonuses to stats. The CABAL Online crafting system has also been improved, with a plethora of new recipes and drop locations, and an increased success rate. Players can also look forward to other cool additions including improved mini-maps and new skills for Force Shielders and Force Bladers.

“The Lost World update is one of the best expansions we have put out for CABAL Online,” said Chris Woolley, producer of CABAL Online. “We’re opening up a whole new world of challenges to our players, and with pirates, mutants, and dangers galore, they’re in for quite a ride!”
